Camping

Hobart Beach campground on Wallagoot Lake is the park’s main camping area and is very popular in summer. Book through NSW National Parks.

Walking in Bournda

The coastal tracks pass rock platforms, small coves and banksia heath, and you can walk short sections from car parks at Kianinny Bay, Bournda Beach or Tura Beach. Allow plenty of time; the full stretch is long and some parts follow beaches, so check tides.

Paddling and swimming

Wallagoot Lake and Bournda Lagoon are calm and shallow, which makes them popular with families and paddlers. The ocean beaches are unpatrolled, so take care with rips.

Getting there

The park is a short drive from Merimbula and Tathra. Access to Hobart Beach and Wallagoot Lake is via sealed and gravel roads suitable for most vehicles. Vehicle entry fees may apply in parts of the park; check NSW National Parks before you go. Combine a morning in Bournda with lunch in Tathra or Merimbula.
